Support matrix
Welcome to HPE VMware Support and Certification webpage for HPE Servers.
HPE servers require the HPE Custom ESXi image or an ESXi image can be created with VMware's ImageBuilder application that has, at minimum, appropriate device drivers to support the boot controller and at least one network device in the server for a successful installation of VMware ESXi.
The drivers for the new network and storage controllers in the servers are integrated in the HPE Custom ESXi image and are not part of the base ESXi image that is distributed by VMware.
Certain HPE servers are only supported with VMware's base image and not supported with the HPE custom ESXi image (see Notes in Matrix below).
Click on the product link to obtain the HPE Server QuickSpecs.
HPE Resources
- See the HPE custom ESXi image for downloading the images.
- See the Contents of the HPE supplied VMware ESXi images for the list of components in the HPE custom ESXi image.
- See the HPE ESXi Offline Bundle for the list of components in the bundle.
- See HPE vibsdepot (aka HPE Online Depot) for a one-stop repository.
VMware Resources
- See the VMware Compatibility Guide for detailed information on supported processors for each of the HPE servers.
- See the VMware Lifecycle Policies for operating system end of support dates on the VMware site.
