Creating RAID volume in RBSU for Intel VROC(SATA RAID)

There are a number of vendors that produce equipment that are compatible with Intel VROC technology. See your included materials as well as the following guide materials for proper configuration.

Prerequisites
  • You have ensured that sufficient drives of the appropriate size and type are available to create the RAID volume.

  • You have ensured the drives are connected to the system properly per your vendor specifications.

  • You have ensured the Pre-OS is able to see all drives.

Procedure
  1. To enter the Setup Menu, press the appropriate key indicated on the screen during boot up. This example uses F9.
  2. Using the arrow key, move the cursor to highlight the menu option System Configuration and press Enter.
  3. Navigate to Intel(R) VROC SATA/sSATA Controller and press Enter.
  4. Navigate to Create RAID Volume and press Enter.
  5. Press Enter with the Name highlighted to modify the volume name, to keep the default, navigate to the next item.
  6. Highlight the RAID Level, which is by default set to RAID 0 (Stripe), press Enter.
  7. To select the drives to be within the array, highlight the empty bracket next to the identified drive, press Enter, and highlight the X. Press Enter to finalize selection as part of the array.
  8. Repeat step 7 for each drive that is required to be within the array. With the exception of RAID 1, you can alter the Strip Size of your array.
  9. The capacity value is in Megabytes. Highlight the current value, press Enter, replace it with your preferred amount in Megabytes, and then press Enter to save.
  10. Navigate to Create Volume, and press Enter.
  11. Navigate to Yes, and press Enter.
