HPE Synergy Management combination

An HPE Synergy Management combination is a paired version of HPE Synergy Composer and HPE Synergy Image Streamer appliances that run a combination of software and firmware. The HPE OneView software is part of the HPE Synergy Composer. If you use an HPE Synergy Image Streamer that software is also part of the management combination.

HPE Synergy Custom SPP

Each HPE Synergy Custom SPP contains shared infrastructure firmware, compute module firmware, OS drivers, and Smart Update Manager (SUM). It is a comprehensive collection of firmware and system software components that are tested and packaged together. Using the firmware management features that are built into HPE OneView, you can define firmware baselines, and then perform firmware updates across the shared infrastructure and compute modules.

Hotfixes

Hotfixes are individual firmware components that are released between the release of HPE Synergy Custom SPPs. Using HPE OneView, a hotfix can be added to an existing HPE Synergy Custom SPP to create a new HPE Synergy Custom SPP. Alternatively, a hotfix can be used to manually update the firmware for its associated component.
