Using the hypervisor cluster profile to add or remove a hypervisor ensures that updates are made without disrupting workloads running on the servers.

Adding hypervisors to the hypervisor cluster

If you are using an OS deployment plan in the hypervisor cluster profile, grow the hypervisor cluster size by just adding server hardware to it. The hypervisor cluster profile deploys new hypervisors and orchestrates consistent configurations from server node to hypervisor.

If you have grown the hypervisor cluster externally, import the additional hypervisors by adding these existing hypervisors into the hypervisor cluster profile to manage from HPE OneView.

Removing hypervisors from the hypervisor cluster

To remove a hypervisor from a hypervisor cluster profile, edit the hypervisor cluster and delete the hypervisor. The hypervisor cluster profile places the hypervisor in maintenance before removing it from the cluster.
