Configure read-only CLI access

The network operator (netop) account provides access to an advanced read-only CLI interface on the interconnect. You can set the netop account password for an interconnect module from the HPE OneView GUI. The netop password change is supported only on the HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module for HPE Synergy and HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for HPE Synergy interconnects. Once the interconnect is configured, SSH to the interconnect IP address to login and use the netop user account.

Prerequisites

  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Network administrator

  • The supported interconnect modules must be in configure state and in legacy security mode.

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select NETWORKING > Interconnects, and then select the interconnect to edit.
  2. Select Actions > Configure read-only CLI access.
  3. Change the netop password.
    If the interconnect is restarted for any reason, the password resets. Then, you must create a new password to access the netop account.
  4. Click OK .
