Edit a logical enclosure

You can change parts of the logical enclosure such as the name, manually assigned IPv4/IPv6 addresses or the power mode using this procedure, but if you want to change the enclosure group associated with the logical enclosure, follow the Grow a logical enclosure procedure.

Prerequisites
  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select SERVERS > Logical Enclosures, and then do one of the following:
    • In the master pane, select the logical enclosure you want to edit and select Actions > Edit.

    • Hover your pointer in the details pane and click the Edit icon.

  2. Edit the values shown on the screen.
    NOTE:

Because logical interconnect names are <logical_enclosure_name-logical interconnect_group_name>, if you change the logical enclosure name, the logical interconnect names change as well.

  3. To override the IP address allocated via the enclosure group policy setting, select Manual in the IPv4 Addresses and IPv6 Addresses sections. Enter the required IPv4 or IPv6 address for a specific interconnect or device bay. You can use Autofill device IPv4/IPv6 addresses or Autofill interconnect IPv4/IPv6 addresses to assign addresses sequentially from a specified starting address.
    • The IP address must fall within an existing subnet. See Addresses and Identifiers.

    • Clear the Manual check box to assign an IP address using the policy specified in the enclosure group.

  4. Click Ok to apply your changes.
  5. Verify your changes in the details pane.
