Swap hardware

This procedure explains how to disconnect an appliance and insert a new HPE Synergy Composer2.

Procedure
  1. Remove the existing active Composer from the HPE Synergy frame. If the appliance is a part of a high availability cluster, remove the former standby Composer as well.
  2. Insert a new or a factory reset HPE Synergy Composer2 appliance in the HPE Synergy frame in the same CIM slot from which the active Composer was removed.
  3. Connect to the HPE Synergy console using a notebook computer or KVM (keyboard, video monitor, and mouse).
  4. From the maintenance console UI, use the Configure network settings option to configure the network settings of the new Composer2 appliance with settings that were recorded during the creating a backup activity.

This step is necessary only if you plan to restore the backup using the HPE OneView UI. Skip this step, if you plan to restore from a backup on the USB flash device.

  5. If you are using a high availability configuration, insert a new or factory-reset Composer2 appliance into an available Composable Infrastructure Appliance slot.

When adding a standby Composer2 appliance, Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends that you use the same Composable Infrastructure Appliance slot that contained the standby HPE Synergy Composer appliance.
