Swap hardware
This procedure explains how to disconnect an appliance and insert a new HPE Synergy Composer2.
Procedure
- Remove the existing active Composer from the HPE Synergy frame. If the appliance is a part of a high availability cluster, remove the former standby Composer as well.
- Insert a new or a factory reset HPE Synergy Composer2 appliance in the HPE Synergy frame in the same CIM slot from which the active Composer was removed.
- Connect to the HPE Synergy console using a notebook computer or KVM (keyboard, video monitor, and mouse).
-
From the maintenance console UI, use the
Configure network settings
option to configure the network settings of the new
Composer2 appliance with settings that were recorded during the creating a backup activity.
This step is necessary only if you plan to restore the backup using the HPE OneView UI. Skip this step, if you plan to restore from a backup on the USB flash device.
-
If you are using a high availability configuration, insert a new or factory-reset
Composer2 appliance into an available Composable Infrastructure Appliance slot.
When adding a standby Composer2 appliance, Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends that you use the same Composable Infrastructure Appliance slot that contained the standby HPE Synergy Composer appliance.
