Volume does not boot operating system as expected
A SAN storage volume is configured with no visible errors, but the volume does not behave as expected.
The CHAP name for an iSCSI initiator defined in a server profile exceeds name character limits required by a network adapter. When the CHAP name is not recognized, the blade fails to connect to storage, and the volume cannot boot the operating system.
- Consult the HPE OneView Support Matrix for HPE Synergy to locate known character limits for supported adapters.
- Within the server profile, reconfigure the CHAP name of the iSCSI initiator for a SAN storage volume to fall within the known character limit of the target network adaptor.
- Retry the operation.
