CS500 model 3211 compute nodes supports four 1U compute modules, each designed to operate as a single system node within the four node chassis. Each module supports two PCIe 3.0 low-profile add-in cards, slot 1 (x16) and slot 2 (x24).
The compute module bays in the chassis require either a compute module being installed and powered up or a dummy tray cover installed to maintain proper thermal environment for the other running compute modules in the same chassis. If a module fails, remove the failed module and replace it with a dummy tray cover until a replacement module is installed.Figure: CS5003211 Rear View
