Accessing Intelligent Provisioning for the first time

Prerequisites
  • If you will access the server directly, a monitor, keyboard, and mouse are connected.

  • If you access the server remotely, iLO is connected to the network using DHCP, or custom network settings are configured.

Procedure
  1. Power on the server.
    • Press the Power On/Standby button if you are setting up the server directly.

    • Log in to iLO and start a remote console. Use the virtual power button to power on the server. For more information, see the iLO online help.

When you power on a server, it displays a list of booting subsystems and self-tests. After the initial Power On Self-Test (POST), the server displays the server initialization screen. The checked icons at the bottom right represent each option that is present or installed on the server.

When you use DHCP, the iLO IP address is displayed at bottom left of the POST screen.

  2. When you see the available function key options displayed at the bottom of the POST screen, press F10 to start Intelligent Provisioning.

Intelligent Provisioning prompts you to select Intelligent Provisioning or HPE Rapid Setup Software.

  3. Click Intelligent Provisioning.

Intelligent Provisioning starts and displays the First Time Set Up Wizard button.

The first time Intelligent Provisioning runs on a server, the First Time Setup wizard guides you through selecting preferences for your system.

  4. Click the First Time Set Up Wizard button.
