Cancel an unresponsive firmware update task

The Cancel task option is available for a task only in the following scenarios:

  • When updating firmware with a server profile with the Firmware only option.

  • When a firmware update operation has already begun.

  • When a firmware update of a server hardware initiated from the logical enclosure takes an unusually long time. A logical enclosure firmware update has multiple child server firmware update tasks running. The Cancel task option is available for each server firmware update task.

IMPORTANT:

Canceling a task is disruptive to system operation. Cancel a task only after trying other methods to address the situation. Use the Cancel task option only as an exception when the task appears to be hung and the progress bar is not showing progress.

Prerequisites
  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator, Server administrator, or Server firmware operator.

  • A firmware update has become unresponsive or appears to not be proceeding.

  2. To select an activity, click a row.
