Add a data center

You define the physical topology of a data center by first adding a data center and specifying its dimensions. Then, within that space, you add and position racks containing enclosures, server hardware, and power delivery devices. You can now use the appliance to manage and monitor the power and cooling of the enclosures, servers, and power delivery devices in your data center.

Prerequisites

Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select FACILITIES > Data Centers, and do one of the following:
    1. Click + Add data center in the master pane.
    2. Select Actions > Add.
  2. Enter the data requested on the screen.
    NOTE:

    When you add a rack to a data center, the Location in the Racks details pane is updated to display the data center name.

  3. Click Add to complete the action or click Add + to add another data center.
  4. Verify that the data center has been added in the master pane.
