Firmware options when adding a rack manager
When adding a rack manager, you have the option to install a new firmware baseline.
Firmware baseline
If you have already added firmware bundles, the Firmware baseline displays options to select the bundle for the firmware. Once selected, HPE OneView updates the server with the firmware that matches the specified baseline. The baseline is set for each of the rack manager platform components such as chassis, systems (nPartitions), and Rack Management Controller (RMC).
NOTE:When you select a lower version of firmware bundle as firmware baseline, the firmware bundle installation fails, and an error message is displayed along with the resolution.
If you select
Manage Manually
(the default), the firmware updates are not managed by HPE OneView.
Force install
Force install applies the firmware bundle on all the components according to the specified baseline. This option requires all the nPartitions of the rack manager to be powered off.
If you do not select the Force install check box, HPE OneView updates only those components that are not in compliance with the selected firmware baseline.
Exclude nPar Firmware Update
If you select the Exclude nPar Firmware Update check box, the nPartition-specific firmware (for example, UEFI) will not be updated.
