Edit an interconnect

Use the Edit interconnect screen of a managed interconnect to:

  • Enable or disable uplink ports.

  • Change the hostname of HPE Virtual Connect SE 16Gb Fibre Channel Module for HPE Synergy and HPE Virtual Connect SE 32Gb FC Module for HPE Synergy interconnects.

NOTE:
Rules for creating the hostname are:

  • Must be no more than 30 characters.

  • Must start with a letter or a number.

  • Must contain a letter or a dash (-).

  • Must not contain characters besides letters, numbers, or a dash.

Changing the hostname of an interconnect has several impacts on the DNS server.

  • Host name registration on the DNS server only applies to DHCP IPv4 addresses.

  • A DNS hostname change on an interconnect results in a hostname IP address mapping update.

  • An interconnect reboot does not change the hostname IP address mapping on the DNS server.

To reset the hostname to factory default, leave the hostname field blank.
