Add a power connection

You can add and edit the power supply connections to power delivery devices. The Add connection dialog box displays the power supplies connected to the device; for example, a BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure has six power supplies. The changes you make on this screen are saved when you save the rack configuration.

If HPE Power Discovery Services detects a connection, the device name is populated automatically.

The Add connections dialog box displays leaf power delivery devices in the rack that are compatible with the device. Power delivery devices that are in use by other devices are not displayed.

Prerequisites

Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select FACILITIES > Power Delivery Devices, and do one of the following:
    1. In the master pane, select the power delivery device to which you want to add a connection and select Actions > Edit.
    2. Hover your pointer in the details pane and click the Edit icon.
  2. Under Power Connections, click Add connections.
  3. In the Add connections dialog box, select a device from the list (press and hold Ctrl to select multiple devices) and click Add to add a connection between that device and the power delivery device, or click Add + to add another connection.
  4. When you are finished adding connections, click OK.
  5. Verify that the power connection has been added in the details pane.

    Connection is blank if no connection is specified or if the device is a power delivery device.

    If the connection is to an HPE AC Module, the connection is the name of its enclosure, which is a hyperlink to the overview of the enclosure on the Enclosures screen.
