Removing the DIMM baffle

This procedure outlines moving the DIMM baffle to access components (flipping the DIMM baffle over) and removing the DIMM baffle.
Procedure
  1. Power down the compute module.
  2. Remove the compute module.
  3. Place the compute module on a flat, level work surface.
  4. Remove the access panel.
  5. If a SLIM/SAS cable is present, disconnect the SLIM/SAS cable connector from the drive assembly.
Disconnecting the SLIM/SAS cable from the drive assembly
  6. For most procedures, flip the DIMM baffle instead of removing the DIMM baffle from the system board.

  7. To remove the DIMM baffle from the system board:
    1. If a SLIM/SAS cable is present, remove the SLIM/SAS cable from the DIMM baffle.
NOTE: Keep the SLIM/SAS cable attached to the Port 3i connector and move the rest of the cable off to the side.

NOTE: The port location for the energy pack has changed from previous releases. Unplug the energy pack from the port located under the mezzanine option card.
  8. Lift the DIMM baffle from the system board.
