HPE Firmware Update Analysis Service
HPE Lifecycle Services
HPE Firmware Update Analysis Service provides recommendations for firmware revision levels for selected HPE servers, storage products, network devices, and solutions, taking into account the relevant revision dependencies within your IT environment.
This service is sold as a block of four (4) hours of HPE Firmware Update Analysis Service work on a per-product basis. Your HPE sales representative will work with you to estimate the quantity of service product numbers recommended for your HPE product(s). Hewlett Packard Enterprise will perform service for the selected product based upon the service features described in this document and will work toward the provision of them up to a maximum of four (4) hours. Additional service hours may be required to complete a firmware update analysis engagement for the selected product.
Maintaining current firmware revisions of HPE products can provide you with enhancements and help you avoid known problems. However, determining the correct firmware revisions and evaluating compatibility with other software and hardware within the IT infrastructure can be a complex process. HPE service specialists will help you evaluate the compatibility of certain selected third-party products with the HPE firmware product for which these services are purchased, and will work with you to help determine the appropriate HPE firmware updates needed. Contact HPE for further information regarding the list of selected third-party products that may be evaluated as part of this service.
This service does not include firmware updates or the right to any firmware updates. Recommendations do not mean that such updates are available to Customers, even if they are under a current support agreement with HPE. Customers may still need to purchase additional support contracts for recommended products. This service does not include the right to any updates. Contact your HPE representative for information regarding the selected products for which this service is available.

| Feature | Delivery specifications |
|---|---|
| Planning and preparation | The HPE service specialist will:
|
| Data gathering | The HPE service specialist gathers relevant information from the Customer, for the product(s) to be analyzed and how they connect to other products in the IT environment. HPE then uses the appropriate HPE configuration collection tools to gather revision information for HPE and selected third-party hardware and software products in the environment. |
| Analysis and report preparation | The HPE service specialist analyzes the revision information and creates a firmware analysis report. The report includes information about whether the current firmware revisions are still supported by HPE. If any later revisions are available, the report recommends which revisions the Customer should use for each product. With the intent of helping to potentially reduce compatibility issues, HPE may indicate the suggested order for installing the updates, and may include suggestions for certain, selected third-party firmware or software revisions that HPE recommends for updating. |
| Report presentation | HPE presents the Customer with a report of its findings and recommendations based upon the information provided, which is shared during an interactive question and answer session with key members of the Customer’s IT staff on the scheduled presentation date. |

Customer acknowledges and agrees that HPE may use resources outside the country of purchase for delivery of these services unless otherwise specified as part of a service feature description.
Services will be provided up to a maximum of four (4) hours and are limited specifically to the provision of firmware update analysis services for the specific product for which the analysis services are purchased. Any unused hours within the four (4) hours allotted for each firmware service update analysis purchased are not eligible for credit and may not be used for the provision of these services on any other products or provision of any other services or products.
These services are limited to HPE’s recommendations only and are intended to help the Customer identify and evaluate firmware updates and potential benefits of such updates if implemented. They are based upon the information available at the time of the analysis, including the accuracy and completeness of any information provided by the Customer, and such recommendations are limited to the scope of the products covered. These recommendations are provided to help reduce the risk of version compatibility problems, but do not help eliminate the possibility that such issues may arise.
The Customer agrees to allow HPE to install HPE owned and HPE provided software tools to locally collect, analyze, and consolidate the appropriate version recommendations for the purposes of providing these services. Any data gathered during delivery will remain at the Customer’s site. During the planning and preparation phase, HPE will meet with the Customer to review the on-site delivery requirements. Upon completion of the services, HPE will provide and review the firmware analysis report with HPE’s recommended firmware versions for the supported HPE servers, storage, and networking products with the Customer and deinstall and remove the HPE owned software tools.
