Customers looking to decrease waste and up-front investments, and to free their IT team to do more business-focused work, can rely on HPE GreenLake
It’s no secret that in this day and age, customers want more. They want more choice, more agility, more security, and more simplicity, but they also want less. Customers want less waste, less up-front investments, and to free their IT team to do more business-focused work. It only seemed a natural conclusion then to help our customers move from the previous models by bringing our own, pay-per-use model to the changing landscape of IT, now called HPE GreenLake, which was the first consumption-based, choice-centric offering to market almost a decade ago.
While other models like leasing and outright purchase, which dominated the market for years, may offer advantages for some businesses, they aren’t the best option for every business, especially when flexibility is needed. Why should customers have to accept low utilization, stalled innovation and slow time to market? The answer is simple – they shouldn’t. Our pay-per-use model combines the performance and security of on-premises infrastructure with the agility and economics of public cloud. Customers only pay for what’s needed, as it’s needed, significantly reducing costs and simplifying operations.
At HPE, we know that innovation for the sake of innovation is useless. Customers don’t want to be sold services that aren’t benefiting their bottom line – they want solutions that are tailored to driving their business outcomes and without the typical waste. So, we listened to their wants and needs and decided that it was time to invest in growing and differentiating our HPE GreenLake ecosystem with more choices than ever before. HPE GreenLake has defined a new category in IT services and our market lead has been holding steady for years as the first and only true pay-per-use IT and hybrid cloud infrastructure for almost a decade.
HPE GreenLake is the first and only true pay-per-use IT and hybrid cloud infrastructure
And customer acceptance has been gratifying - HPE GreenLake now has $2.4B under contract. With almost a decade of experience and input from our customers, we have built the choices, the tools, the ecosystem, and the expertise to deliver IT-as-a-service at scale globally. And we’re growing fast – with a yearly growth of 45% we are adding customers daily. There are over 600 global enterprise customers who are very loyal with near 100% retention rate and high satisfaction. Over 100 HPE channel partners are moving their customers to HPE GreenLake, growing our revenue through the channel by about 300% annually.
HPE GreenLake differs significantly from other IT-as-a-service-based models, offering more choice and less up-front heavy investments. Gone are the days where customers had to account for a certain amount of waste in their budgets from over provisioning or guess at their future needs. Our metering is intuitive to the customer and doesn’t penalize them for needing flexibility – we share the risk. In fact, customers saved on average 30 percent specifically because of our pay-per-use, consumption-based model. But we’re not just protecting customers’ bottom lines – we’re also bolstering their productivity and deployment agility. HPE GreenLake customers saw a 40 percent increase in IT productivity through the lessening of support loads and a 65 percent reduction in time-to-market for deploying global IT projects.
And we’re not stopping there. To date, HPE GreenLake supports 13 different workloads and technologies, including Big Data, Intelligent Storage, HPC, compute, database platform, SAP-HANA, containers, virtualization, private cloud, backup, networking, VDI, and edge compute. We’re also ensuring that customers have the most choice in their IT and hybrid cloud infrastructure by supporting a comprehensive network of ecosystem partners, which includes Accenture, (AWS), Cloudera, CommVault, CyrusOne, Docker, EDB, Equinix, Google, Kubernetes, Microsoft, Nutanix, Rackspace, Red Hat, SAP, Scality, Veeam, VMware and Wipro. But don’t take it from me, check out some of the GreenLake customer success stories.
