- HPE Storage is recognized for completeness of vision and ability to execute in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant
The 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Primary Storage has just been published, and I am proud to say that Gartner has recognized HPE as a Leader for the third year in a row! I’m thrilled Gartner chose to recognize HPE for our completeness of vision and our ability to execute. Download a copy for yourself here.
Underpinning HPE’s achievement is a vision to simplify data management with a cloud operational experience. We deliver on this vision with the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform, and we’re now accelerating customer adoption of the cloud operating model with data-driven intelligence and a proven edge-to-cloud adoption framework. These factors give our customers crucial advantages: unprecedented levels of agility, protection against ransomware and cyberattacks, seamless operations across hybrid cloud, and lower costs.
Our Vision: Simplifying Data Management with a Cloud Operational Experience
In a world where everything is transforming to digital and data has become your most important asset, every organization needs to unleash agility, innovation, and the power of data. Yet, the complexity of IT infrastructure and data management continues to hold business and IT back. What’s the answer? There needs to be a better, more straightforward approach to data management.
Cloud has set the standard for agility with a cloud operational model that enables line of business owners and developers to build and deploy new applications, services, and projects faster than ever before. This renders underlying infrastructure invisible and shifts to app-centric operations. Now, extending that idea further, organizations seek to bring the benefits of the cloud operational experience to wherever their data and app workloads live, from edge to cloud.
Part of this transformation journey involves Primary Storage moving to an as a service model. It’s a model centered on a cloud operational experience that radically simplifies and automates storage operations, enabling IT to meet ever-increasing business needs and deliver the agility that line of business owners and developers require to go faster.
While this shift is necessary, Primary Storage needs to do a lot more! Storing data is just the beginning. Customers need to ensure that data is: always-on, always-fast, and powering their apps; secure and protected from ransomware and cyberattacks; seamlessly accessible to data innovators; and mobile across private, public, and multi-cloud environments. To deliver these benefits for our customers, we recently unveiled our vision for a new data experience.
HPE GreenLake offers storage as a service that enables customers to deliver on their SLAs while lowering costs with a pay as you go, cloud ownership experience
Delivering on Our Vision with the HPE GreenLake Edge-to-Cloud Platform
The HPE GreenLake platform offers customers a broad portfolio of cloud services that provide greater choice and freedom for their business and IT strategies via an open and modern platform that delivers a cloud experience everywhere. HPE GreenLake continues to see excellent customer momentum — now with more than 1,200 customers and $5.2 billion in total contract value.
HPE GreenLake offers storage as a service that enables customers to deliver on their SLAs while lowering costs with a pay as you go, cloud ownership experience. This experience frees up as much as 99% of customers’ time and powers faster data storage deployments for app workloads via a cloud operational experience or optional managed services.
Recently announced innovations expand HPE GreenLake cloud services with HPE GreenLake for data protection, providing disaster recovery and backup cloud services as seamless extensions to primary storage to help customers confront ransomware head-on as they secure data from edge to cloud. Building on industry-leading disaster recovery technology from Zerto, an HPE company, we now offer customers the flexibility to deploy Zerto software or disaster recovery as a service — the same protection currently offered by more than 350 Managed Service Partners to recover in minutes, at scale, to a state just prior to a ransomware attack. We’re integrating Zerto technology with HPE GreenLake to enhance our delivery of disaster recovery as a service in the coming months.
In addition, HPE Backup and Recovery Service, part of HPE GreenLake for data protection, offers backup as a service designed for hybrid cloud. Customers can flexibly protect their virtual machines across hybrid cloud with rapid on-prem recovery and cost-effective, long-term retention in the public cloud — all effortlessly managed with policy-based automation through a cloud console.
Accelerating Adoption of a Cloud Operating Model with Data-Driven Intelligence and an Adoption Framework
We believe in delighting our customers, full stop. That means helping them achieve the optimal cloud operating model everywhere via data-driven intelligence and an edge-to-cloud adoption framework. HPE InfoSight, our industry-leading AI Ops for infrastructure, has pioneered many innovations in AI-driven intelligence over the last decade as it has transformed the customer support experience. Behind the scenes, the power of HPE InfoSight now drives the cloud operational experience for workloads on the HPE GreenLake platform by making data infrastructure invisible and shifting operations to be app, not infrastructure, centric.
We recently introduced HPE CloudPhysics, a SaaS service delivering data-driven insights for smarter IT decisions from edge to cloud that enables IT to optimize application workload placement, procure right-sized infrastructure services, and lower costs. Available as a free service to our Partners, HPE CloudPhysics elevates our Partners to be strategic advisors to their customers.
Finally, the recently unveiled HPE Edge-to-Cloud Adoption Framework leverages HPE’s proven expertise in delivering solutions on premises to meet a broad spectrum of business needs for customers across the globe. The Framework stitches together critical areas that enterprises should evaluate and measure, across several domains, to execute an effective cloud operating model.
