Viewing map of downlink ports to uplink ports for Fibre Channel (FC) modules

You can view the mapping of a downlink port to an uplink port in the Downlink Ports section under interconnects. You can also determine if too many downlinks ports are logged in on a specific uplink port which might result in server performance issues. Use the manual Login redistribution action to redistribute the logins evenly across the uplink ports if:
  1. A number of servers share an uplink set which is configured for manual login redistribution

  2. And the mapping shows that logins are not balanced evenly across the uplink ports.

The Uplink port field displays the mapping of the downlink port to uplink ports for Fibre Channel modules. If trunking is enabled for the uplink set and the connected SAN fabric switch is configured for trunking, then all the uplink ports in the uplink set are displayed. The specific uplink port acting as the master is denoted as a trunk master.

If the FC trunking is disabled on the uplink set, then the uplink port used by the downlink is displayed.
