Create a logical interconnect group

Create a logical interconnect group based on the interconnects expected to be in a logical enclosure.

If you want to use an existing logical interconnect group as a template, copy the logical interconnect group rather than creating one.

Prerequisites

Privileges: Network administrator, Server administrator (for the HPE Synergy 12Gb SAS Connection Module), or Infrastructure administrator.

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select NETWORKING > Logical Interconnect Groups, and then do one of the following:
    • Select Actions > Create.

    • Click + Create logical interconnect group.

  2. Enter a name for the logical interconnect group.
  3. Select the Interconnect type.

The interconnect type determines the configuration of interconnect choices and bay locations.

  4. Enter any data requested on the screen, and then click Select interconnects.

For scope, users with create permissions that are restricted by scope must assign resources to one or more restrictive scopes to be able to manage a resource. Users with create permissions that are not restricted by scope are not required to assign resources to a scope to be able to manage a resource. Users with no scope restrictions can assign any resource to any scope.

  5. Select from the list of available interconnects for an enclosure.
  6. If you selected interconnect type HPE Synergy 12Gb SAS Connection Module, skip to step 15.
  7. Select from the list of available interconnects for each bay.
  8. Click the Edit icon of the internal network area in the graphical view.
  9. Click Add networks to select from available networks.
  10. Click OK when you are finished adding the internal networks.
  11. Click Add uplink set.
  12. Enter the data requested on the screen for each uplink set you want to create.
  13. Click Create to finish, or click Create + to create additional uplink sets.
  14. Optional: Scroll down and, if necessary, change the interconnect settings.

Any logical interconnects created from the interconnect group inherit these settings.

  15. Optional: Change the SNMP settings.

Any logical interconnects created from the interconnect group inherit these settings.

  16. Optional: Change the Quality of Service (QoS) settings.
  17. Click Create to finish, or click Create + to create additional logical interconnect groups.
  18. To verify that the logical interconnect group was created, locate the group in the details pane.
  19. Optional: Select the logical interconnect group to edit, and then select Actions > Edit to change the utilization sampling settings, if necessary.

These settings are used in data collection for the utilization graphs displayed on the Interconnects screen.

    NOTE:

If you selected interconnect type HPE Synergy 12Gb SAS Connection Module, this option is not available.

  20. Click OK to apply any changes.
  21. To verify the changes, locate them in the General view.
