Quick Start: Add HPE Synergy Image Streamer devices to an existing HPE Synergy configuration

The following steps describe how to bring Image Streamer into HPE OneView for management when Image Streamer appliances have been added to an existing HPE Synergy configuration:

Prerequisites
  • Image Streamer requires two service ports. Use the ports on the HPE Virtual Connect Module for Image Streamer cabling.

  • Ensure that the Image Streamer appliances within the frame are connected to the compatible and supported frame link modules.
    NOTE:

Image Streamer appliances can interoperate with only HPE Synergy two-port Frame Link Module in the frame.

Service ports are the Q{x}.1 and Q{x}.2 uplink ports on the HPE Virtual Connect SE 40Gb F8 Module for HPE Synergy or the X1 and X2 uplink ports on the HPE Virtual Connect SE 100Gb F32 Module for HPE Synergy that are connected to the Image Streamer appliance through the MGMT ports of the Frame Link modules. For HPE VC SE 100Gb F32 Module, X1 and X2 uplink ports are the dedicated SFP+ ports.

  1. If necessary, reconfigure the existing Virtual Connect uplinks to use five or fewer QSFP+ ports.

  2. Check power and health

Confirm that the appliance power and health LEDs are green, and then inform the HPE OneView Infrastructure administrator that the Image Streamer devices are ready for configuration.
