Preupdate steps for HPE Synergy Composer

The following procedures are to make sure that your appliance is healthy and not running any tasks when the update process begins. Do not perform any other actions between the preparation and beginning the update as that could alter the readiness of the appliance for updating.

Procedure
  1. Download the HPE OneView update.bin image file to your local computer from the HPE Synergy Software Releases website at https://www.hpe.com/info/synergy-sw-release-information. For more information, see HPE Synergy software releases and Download HPE Synergy software and firmware.
  2. Use a checksum utility of your choice and the .md5 file to verify the integrity of the downloaded update image file.
  3. Create and download a backup file.
    NOTE:

The HPE Synergy Custom SPPs stored in the internal repository are not backed up as part of an appliance backup. Ensure you save copies of any HPE Synergy Custom SPPs and hotfixes in a safe location before you upload them to the HPE OneView internal repository. If you must restore the appliance from backup, you must upload these saved copies back into the repository.
