Installing and configuring a web-based external firmware repository on Microsoft Windows
An externally managed HTTP/HTTPS web server can be added to the appliance as a firmware repository. It is a user-maintained HTTP/HTTPS web server. You can upload firmware bundles in a specific virtual directory and then register the HTTP/HTTPS server with HPE OneView.
An external web server configured with both the IPv4 and IPv6 address can be added to HPE OneView.
Examples:IPv4 address: 192.168.12.0
IPv6 address: [2001:db8::]
The external repository does not need to be on the same subnet as the HPE OneView appliance. However, a relatively low latency link is required between HPE OneView and the external repository, and also between the external repository and the managed devices.
To check the latency from the appliance, select
.You can choose to use HTTP or HTTPS with the external repository-based on which one you specify when adding the external repository to HPE OneView. Updates that use HTTP run faster than HTTPS, and while HTTP is not encrypted, all the packages in the firmware bundles are digitally signed to guard against tampering.
If your HPE OneView appliance is configured in FIPS or CNSA modes, you must also configure your external repository with these levels of cryptography. The instructions are included in a subsequent section.
Configuring WebDAV is required. The instructions are included in a subsequent section.
