Install IIS Web Server on Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012
Prerequisites
Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2012 has been installed on the system.
Procedure
From the operating system
Start menu, choose
Server Manager.
In the navigation pane, choose
Dashboard, and click
Add Roles and Features.
Read
Before you begin page and click
OK.
In the
Installation type page, select
Role-based or feature-based installation, and click
Next.
In the
Server selection
page, select your server, and click
OK.
In the
Server Roles window, select
Web Server (IIS),
Add Roles and Feature Wizard displays.
Click
Add Features.
In the
Web Server Role (IIS) page, click
Next.
In the
Role services page, click
Next.
NOTE:
Do not change the default settings on the
Role services page.
In the
Confirm installation selections page, click
Install.
In the
Installation Progress page, confirm that your installation completed successfully, and click
Close.
To verify that the web server has been installed correctly, start your browser, and then in the address, enter the IP address of the web server and prepend
http:// to it.
