Create a custom SPP

Hewlett Packard Enterprise sometimes releases component hotfixes between main Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) releases. Create a custom SPP in HPE OneView using the base SPP and the hotfix. To apply the hotfix on the managed resources, create a customized SPP with the hotfix.

Different mechanisms are available for applying a hotfix in HPE OneView:

NOTE:

  • If your managed environment includes HPE BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure, any custom SPP that you create must include OA, and Virtual Connect firmware.

  • When you create a custom firmware bundle using HPE OneView, include all the OS variants of the hotfix in the SPP. The SPP must include the .rpm, .exe, and .fwpkg or .zip files.

  • When updating firmware on a resource, HPE OneView will use the most recent version of components present in the selected firmware bundle.
