Additional FlexNIC port details

Screen component

Description

FIP Snooping

(Active FCoE only)

These fields display when a FlexNIC port is on an FCoE interconnect.

FlexNIC statistics data is refreshed at the same frequency as the interval between samples, which you can set using the Utilization sampling settings on the Logical Interconnects or the Logical Interconnect Groups screen.

MAC Address

MAC address of the server downlink port which corresponds to the FCoE connection.

LAG

Link Aggregation Group ID for the uplink ports providing FCoE connectivity for the server downlink port.

VLAN

VLAN ID associated with the FCoE network assigned to the server downlink port.

Network

Name of the FCoE network is also a hyperlink to the Networks screen.

FCF MAC Address

In FCF mode, a single FCF MAC address per switch.

In NPV mode, the FCF MAC address for each port on the FCF switch that is part of the LAG.

FCoE MAC Address

Fabric-provided MAC address which is used by the server Converged Network Adapter (CNA) to log into the SAN fabric for this FCoE network. The FCoE MAC address is constructed from FC MAP and FC ID provided by the FCF.

FC ID

A 24–bit field assigned by the fabric on the FCF to each initiator and is used to route frames through the FC network.

FCF Name

FCF switch node WWN name associated with the FCoE network. The name is provided by the FCF in snooped FIP messages.

Statistics

These fields display when a FlexNIC port is on an interconnect that supports statistical data collection.

FlexNIC statistics data is refreshed at the same frequency as the interval between samples, which you can set using the Utilization sampling settings on the Logical Interconnects or the Logical Interconnect Groups screen.

Transmitted errors

Number of errors that the port has transmitted since the connection was established or the last time the port counters were cleared.

Received errors

Number of errors that the port has received since the connection was established or the last time the port counters were cleared.

Bit Transfer Rate graph

Displays the bit transfer rate (transmitted and received) of the FlexNIC port over time, and the average bit transfer rate.

You can change the sample collection rate using the Utilization sampling settings on the Logical Interconnects or the Logical Interconnect Groups screen.

Packet Transfer Rate graph

Displays the packet transfer rate (transmitted and received) of the FlexNIC port over time, and the average packet transfer rate.

You can change the sample collection rate using the Utilization sampling settings on the Logical Interconnects or the Logical Interconnect Groups screen.

30 seconds input rate

The total number of packets received on the interface, including framing characters over the last 30 seconds.

Sample data: 80 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec

30 seconds output rate

The total number of packets transmitted on the interface, including framing characters over the last 30 seconds.

Sample data: 1224 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec

Input errors

The number of inbound packets that contained errors preventing them from being deliverable to a higher-layer protocol.

Output errors

The number of outbound packets that could not be transmitted because of errors.

Advanced Statistics

These fields display if a FlexNIC port is on an interconnect that supports statistical data collection, and if the interconnect is in a managed state.

The counters that appear depend on the port type: Ethernet, FlexFabric Fibre Channel, or the Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-port FC Module. For more information, see Uplink and downlink port advanced statistics.

VLAN IDs

VLAN identification numbers for the networks using this interconnect. For a single, unique VLAN ID, the VLAN ID is a hyperlink to the Networks screen.
