FlexNIC port details

For interconnects that are associated with a FlexNIC port, these fields are populated automatically. You cannot edit them.

Screen component

Description

Flex NIC

Subport on the flex adapter to which the server is connected, for example, LOM 1–b.

Type

Type of network: Ethernet or Fibre Channel.

State

State of the port:

  • Linked The port is physically linked to the interconnect.

  • Unlinked The port is not physically linked to the interconnect.

  • Disabled The port has been disabled from the Edit interconnect screen.

Network(s)

Either the network name or number of networks to which the port is connected. If only one network is connected, the network name is shown. If more than one network is connected, the number of networks is shown.

This is a hyperlink to an overview of the network(s) on the Networks screen.

Bandwidth (min/max)

Minimum and maximum bandwidth, in Gb/s, of the network to which the port is connected.

Address

MAC address of the downlink port.

FC port ID (For direct attach only)

Hexadecimal ID assigned to the port by the Fibre Channel SAN.

Server port WWN

(For direct attach only)

World Wide Port Name of the server port.

Server node WWN

(For direct attach only)

World Wide Node Name of the server node.

Server port name

(For direct attach only)

Symbolic port name of the server port to which the downlink port is connected.

Server node name

(For direct attach only)

Symbolic node name of the server node to which the downlink port is connected.

Connection state

Connection state of the downlink port: Active, Inactive, or Unlinked.

Uplink ports (For Fibre Channel only)

List of the uplink ports to which the downlink port is connected through the network.

Bit Transfer Rate graph

Displays the bit transfer rate (transmitted and received) of the downlink port over time, and the average bit transfer rate.

You can change the sample collection rate using the Utilization Sampling settings on the Logical Interconnects or the Logical Interconnect Groups screen.

Packet Transfer Rate graph

Displays the packet transfer rate (transmitted and received) of the downlink port over time, and the average packet transfer rate.

You can change the sample collection rate using the Utilization Sampling settings on the Logical Interconnects or the Logical Interconnect Groups screen.

Utilization

(For interconnects that support statistical data collection)

Hover your pointer over the meter to display a graph of the bit transfer rate of the port over time.

Port utilization data is refreshed at the same frequency as the interval between samples, which you can set using the Utilization Sampling settings on the Logical Interconnects or the Logical Interconnect Groups screen.
