Add or edit an SNMP trap destination

A trap destination is an IP address or a host name of the system to which the appliance forwards the traps received by managed devices. Trap destination supports both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

The port numbers ranging from 1 to 65,535 of the destination are configured to receive SNMP traps.

Prerequisites

Privileges: Infrastructure administrator

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select Settings.
  2. In the SNMP panel, click Edit.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To add a new trap, click Add Trap Destination.

    • To edit an existing trap, click adjacent to the trap destination listed.

  4. Provide all the details in the Add Trap Destination dialog box.

    Based on the trap format destination, provide either a Community String for the SNMPv1 trap format or an SNMPv3 User name for SNMPv3 trap format.

  5. Click Add to add another trap destination.
  6. Click OK to update the appliance SNMP settings.
  7. Verify any changes in the SNMP panel.
