Create a snapshot from a volume

Creating a snapshot allows you to copy a particular configuration from a working system to reuse with modifications.

NOTE:

You cannot create a snapshot for an HPE Nimble Storage system from HPE OneView.

Prerequisites

  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator, Server administrator, or Storage administrator.

  • You have created or added an HPE 3PAR StoreServ Storage volume.

  • You have configured a snapshot storage pool for the volume.

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select STORAGE > Volumes.
  2. In the master pane, select the volume for which you want to create a snapshot and select Actions > Create snapshot.
  3. Edit the values shown on the screen.
  4. Click Create to apply your changes.
  5. Verify that the snapshot has been created by reviewing the Snapshot view in the details pane.
