Create a volume from snapshot

You can create a full copy of a volume based on the data in the snapshot. For large volumes, this can take a long time, depending on storage system resources available for the copy action.

NOTE:

You cannot create a volume from an HPE Nimble Storage system snapshot from HPE OneView.

Prerequisites

  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator, Server administrator, or Storage administrator.

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select STORAGE > Volumes.
  2. In the master pane, select the volume for which you want to create a snapshot and navigate to the Snapshot view.
  3. Locate the snapshot from which you want to create a volume and click Create volume.
  4. Edit the values shown on the screen.
  5. Click Create to apply your changes.
  6. Verify that the volume has been created by reviewing the details pane.
