Perform OSM actions to load and verify the blade files

Procedure
  1. Use the OSM System Configuration Tool to perform the Configure Processor Blade action to ensure that the server blade has the files and configuration information necessary to boot.

Upon performing a hard reset, as prompted by the Configure Processor Blade action, the new Processor Blade will be running the same HSS firmware as the existing processors on the system.

  2. Use the OSM System Startup Tool to verify the state of the affected processor (it can take 5 minutes or longer to reach Halt %100212):
    1. Click Processor Status.
    2. Verify that the Processor Status is PON - No OS image (Halt %100212).
      NOTE:

You might find that the processor is no longer halted if Tandem Failure Data System (TFDS) or another tool or utility caused an automatic reload.

  3. Use the OSM HSS and HCA Firmware Management Tool to update the HCA firmware on the blade.
    1. Select the Update HCA Firmware option.
    2. After logging in, check the running HCA Version of the newly replaced processor and compare it with the HCA Version for the selected HSS distribution.
    3. If the HCA firmware needs to be updated, select the newly replaced processor from the Select Processor for HCA update dropdown box.
    4. The update can take 10 minutes or more to complete.

  4. Use the Onboard Administrator to perform the Launch iLO URL action on the Processor Blade object associated with the server blade you added or replaced. No credentials are required.
    NOTE:

If the iLO interface fails by trying to connect to http://0.0.0.0, wait two minutes and try again.
