Tracking progress while creating, editing and deleting a volume

You can track the progress in HPE StoreEasy management console while:
  • Creating the volume

  • Editing the volume

  • Deleting the volume

When new volume is being created, user cannot create a new volume, delete the volume and edit the volume.

Procedure

  1. In the main Volumes page, click on the upper left corner of the window. Running tasks window will appear. This window provides you the following information:
    • Title of the task: For example, if user is editing volume settings for "XYZ" volume then the title will be shown as Changing volume settings for XYZ .
    • User who initiated the operation: For example, administrator.

    • Estimated remaining time: For example, about 1 minute left.

  2. Click View details in Running tasks window. Task details window will appear. It will display the following additional information:
    • It shows the completed steps, steps to be carried out or to be carried out while performing the tasks (volume creation, volume editing, and volume deleting). For an instance, if a user is creating a volume, then it will display the following steps:
      • Creating array and logical drive.

      • configuring hot spare drives.

      • Creating the volume and formatting.

      • Allocating drive space.

      • Creating snapshot schedule.
