Adding HPE BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure to manage its contents

NOTE:

The name associated with the enclosure is the enclosure name set in the HPE BladeSystem Onboard Administrator, and is not the name of the Onboard Administrator.

Prerequisites

Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Server administrator.
Prerequisites for bringing an HPE BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure into HPE OneView must be in place before you add an enclosure.
Before adding an enclosure for management
If you have Virtual Connect Fibre Channel interconnects, see Update the firmware for Virtual Connect interconnects configured for Fibre Channel networks before adding the enclosure. If you have Virtual Connect Fibre Channel interconnects, see "Manage logical interconnect firmware" in the online help for instructions before adding the enclosure.

Procedure

From the main menu, select Enclosures and do one of the following:
- Click + Add enclosure in the master pane.
- Select Actions > Add.
Select Add enclosure for management.
Enter the data requested on the screen.

NOTE:
You are not setting the Onboard Administrator name and Onboard Administrator password, but are supplying credentials to establish a trust relationship between HPE OneView and the Onboard Administrator.
Choose Add or Add +.
If you have more enclosures to add, you can add the next enclosure immediately; you do not have to wait for the last Add Enclosure action to complete before starting the next.
You must supply a new IP address or host name for each enclosure, but the Onboard Administrator Name and Password credentials are retained on the screen as a convenience if you use the same credentials for multiple enclosures.
Verify that the enclosure has been added by confirming the enclosure is listed in the master pane.
