Create a volume template

Create a volume template to support consistent volume creation in storage systems.

Prerequisites

  • Privileges: Infrastructure administrator or Storage administrator.

  • You have added at least one storage system.

  • You have selected at least one storage pool for management.

Procedure
  1. From the main menu, select STORAGE > Volume Templates, and do one of the following:

    • Click + Create volume template in the master pane.

    • Select Actions > Create.

    NOTE:

    The Actions menu becomes visible once you create at least one volume template.

  2. Enter the data requested on the screen.

    Set default values and optional lock properties to streamline volume configuration.

    You can also restrict the use of the volume template by selecting a previously defined authorization scope.

  3. Click Create to complete the action or click Create + to create another volume template.
  4. Verify that the volume template has been created in the master pane.

After you create a volume template, you can use it to create volumes.
